Israeli authorities release 10 detainees from Gaza, including paramedic Asaad al-Nasasra

GAZA, April 29, 2025 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation authorities released on Tuesday ten detainees from the Gaza Strip, including a paramedic.

WAFA correspondent reported that the ten detainees were freed from Israeli prisons and transferred to the Martyrs of Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, after being freed via the Kissufim checkpoint.

In a brief statement, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) confirmed the release of paramedic Asaad al-Nasasra, who had been detained on March 23, 2025, while performing his humanitarian duties during the Israeli massacre of medical teams in the Tel Sultan area of Rafah. The massacre resulted in the killing of eight members of the PRCS ambulance staff.

Yesterday, Israeli authorities also released 11 detainees from the Gaza Strip.

A recent report issued by the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) highlighted the severe conditions endured by Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails.

The report stated that the prison system, according to testimonies from a group of detainees, has used every method possible to strip them of their humanity and psychologically break them.

The report further noted that despite 19 months since the ongoing genocide, the conditions of detention remain unchanged, and in some cases, have worsened. Time has become a decisive factor in the fate of detainees, with the continuation of this relentless cruelty, the report stated.

As of early April 2025, the number of detainees from Gaza acknowledged by the Israeli prison system stood at 1,747, not including those held in military camps.
