ICRC stresses need to provide adequate health care in the West Bank as humanitarian needs increase

RAMALLAH, April 29, 2025 (WAFA) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) stressed the need to provide adequate, safe, and timely health care in the West Bank, as humanitarian needs increase.

In a statement, the ICRC noted that Palestinians in the West Bank have faced difficult conditions over the past 18 months, with dozens killed and injured, and thousands forcibly displaced from their homes.

It added that the ICRC recently provided essential medical supplies to the Ministry of Health in Nablus, including life-saving materials such as anesthetics and burns materials.

It emphasized that international humanitarian law stipulates that the occupying power must ensure and maintain the safety and security of medical facilities and services in the occupied territories, as well as medical supplies, while civilians must have safe and timely access to them.

It noted that the ICRC continues to support the health sector in the West Bank to ensure the provision of health care under increasingly difficult conditions.
