RAMALLAH, March 25, 2015 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Wednesday expressed his utmost sorrow for the victims of the German plane crash in the French Alps, which killed all 150 passengers on board on Tuesday.
According to the Guardian website, Germanwings A320 aircraft flying from Barcelona to Düsseldorf went down in southern French Alps on Tuesday, killing all 150 passengers and crew on board.
The passengers included Germans, Spaniards, Turks and Australians, and among them was a class of 16 German high school students and two teachers who were returning from a study program near Barcelona, according to the New York Times.
In sympathy for the victims who lost their lives, Abbas sent identical letters expressing his sorrow to his French counterpart François Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and to the Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.
Abbas also expressed his deep sorrow and full support for the victims’ families.
