BETHLEHEM,
November 6, 2014 (WAFA) – A Palestinian from the village of al-Khader, west of
Bethlehem, survived on Thursday a murder attempt by an Israeli settler, who drove
fast towards the former in an obvious attempt to run him over, local sources
reported.
Ahmad
Salah, coordinator of the Anti-Settlement Committee in the village, said
Mohannad Salah, a Palestinian farmer, 33, was walking along Hebron-Bethlehem
highway when an Israeli settler drove fast towards him in an apparent murder
attempt.
Salah
said the farmer instantly hid behind the roadside steel barrier, escaping the
murder attempt against him.
On
October 19, an Israeli settler deliberately killed four-year-old Inas Dar Khalil and seriously injured another
girl when he deliberately ran them over with his car near Ramallah.
Whereas
settlers survive any legal proceeding in most run-over incidents of
Palestinians, direct shooting and killing orders are taken right away by Israeli
army and police in case the driver was a Palestinian.
Only
yesterday, Israeli police shot dead a Palestinian driver after he lost control
of his car, running over police officers, killing a Border Police
officer and injuring at least 10 others in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh
Jarrah.
Police described the incident, which took place on the seam
line between west Jerusalem and the city's annexed Arab east, as a 'hit and run
terror attack.
On
October 29, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry issued a statement denouncing
Israel’s discriminatory treatment of Palestinians and Israelis, stressing that
Israel follows an obvious discrimination policy in handling incidents committed
by Israelis.
