CAIRO, August 6, 2026 (WAFA) — The foreign ministers of eight Arab and Islamic countries on Thursday condemned the ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip, particularly the targeting of healthcare facilities, attacks on civilian infrastructure, and the continued killing of civilians, including women and children, describing them as grave violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, and Saudi Arabia said the continued violations constitute a clear breach of Israel's obligations under international law and undermine international and regional efforts to end the war in Gaza.
They warned that the violations threaten to derail the political process, fuel a new cycle of escalation, and deepen the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip. The ministers stressed the need to protect civilians and ensure the immediate, safe, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and relief assistance throughout Gaza.
The ministers reaffirmed their countries' categorical rejection of any attempts to annex the occupied Palestinian territory, impose Israeli sovereignty over it, or forcibly displace the Palestinian people. They stressed that achieving a just and comprehensive peace requires launching a serious political process leading to the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The statement called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by taking practical measures to ensure Israel complies with its obligations under international law and holds those responsible for grave violations accountable, contributing to the protection of civilians and the achievement of a permanent ceasefire.
The ministers also stressed that the Israeli violations in Gaza cannot be separated from colonists' attacks in the occupied West Bank, settlement expansion, and unilateral measures aimed at changing the status quo in occupied Jerusalem, describing these practices as a systematic policy intended to impose new realities by force and undermine the foundations of the two-state solution.
