RAMALLAH, July 16, 2026 (WAFA) – The United States and Iran have intensified their military attacks in a continuous escalation over the past week, increasing pressure on the ceasefire agreement reached by the two sides last month and raising doubts about its sustainability.
The US military announced it had carried out strikes targeting dozens of Iranian military sites, including coastal surveillance and air defense sites, military logistics infrastructure, and naval capabilities, marking the sixth consecutive night of U.S attacks on Iran.
The U.S strikes resulted in the killing of seven people after targeting bridges in the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Khamir, and caused a power outage at Iranshahr Airport in Sistan and Baluchestan province.
Meanwhile, bridges in Kuwait and Bahrain were directly targeted on Saturday morning, amid an escalation of Iranian attacks on Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia. Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan all announced that their air defenses had intercepted Iranian attacks.
