Saudi Arabia affirms commitment to just peace conducive to independent Palestinian state

BRUSSELS, July 14, 2026 (WAFA) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed on Tuesday commitment to just and comprehensive peace conducive to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Speaking at the second high-level ministerial meeting of the Donors Group for Palestine held in Brussels, Saudi Arabia’s Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Manal Radwan stated that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip remains extremely critical nine months after the ceasefire.

Radwan noted that the situation remains as such as Israel continues to militarily occupy nearly 70 percent of the genocide-stricken enclave, and impose severe restrictions hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid, early recovery efforts, reconstruction, and the restoration of normal civilian life.

She pointed to the unbridled intensification of Israel’s colonial settlement construction, colonists’ violence, and unilateral measures in the occupied West Bank, stressing that these developments demonstrate that what is unfolding is not merely a humanitarian crisis, but a political one that requires a political solution.

Radwan noted that Saudi Arabia welcomed the international community’s continued political support to UNRWA, underscoring the importance of translating this support into concrete and sustainable financial commitments to ensure the Agency's ability to continue providing humanitarian, educational, and health services to millions of Palestine refugees.

She affirmed that the Kingdom will continue to stand by the Palestinian government politically, economically, and diplomatically, while working with regional and international partners to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace based on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
