RAMALLAH, June 29, 2026 (WAFA) - Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Al Sheikh, received, in two separate meetings, the French Consul General, Nicolas Cassianedes, and the Representative of the Swiss Confederation to the State of Palestine, Anne-Lise Cathérin Heiniger, in farewell meetings.

The meetings discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly with regard to regional security, and ways to move forward in strengthening bilateral relations, especially following the French recognition of the State of Palestine, which contributes to advancing political efforts toward achieving peace.

During the meetings, emphasis was also placed on the importance of continuing to implement the Palestinian reform program as a Palestinian national demand, and enhancing efforts to develop national institutions, in addition to affirming the necessity of upholding a democratic approach through holding the upcoming general elections.

At the conclusion of the meetings, the vice president wished Cassianedes and Heiniger success in their forthcoming missions, while expressing appreciation for their efforts in strengthening Palestinian-French relations and Palestinian-Swiss relations.
