Colonists bock road and attack Palestinian vehicles west of Jericho

JERICHO, June 21, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Sunday evening blocked Al-Mu'arrajat Road, which links the cities of Jericho and Ramallah, and attacked Palestinian vehicles traveling through the area.

Local sources told WAFA that colonists closed the road to traffic and assaulted a number of passing vehicles, disrupting movement and causing fear and concern among residents who rely on the route on a daily basis.

The sources added that the attack disrupted traffic flow on one of the main roads connecting the central West Bank with the Jordan Valley, amid ongoing assaults by colonists against Palestinian citizens and their property.

The Al-Mu'arrajat area and its surroundings have witnessed an escalation in colonist attacks, including road closures and assaults on vehicles and residents. The incidents come amid a broader increase in colonist violence across various governorates of the occupied West Bank, often carried out under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
