Occupation authorities issue demolition order for Palestinian home in Silwan

JERUSALEM, June 21, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Sunday issued a demolition order against a Palestinian-owned home in the neighborhood of Silwan, in occupied East Jerusalem.

Local sources said Israeli forces handed Jawad Abu Ramouz, a local Palestinian citizen, a demolition order for his home in the Al-Bustan area of Silwan.

The Jerusalem Governorate said that teams from the Israeli municipality, accompanied by Israeli forces, stormed several homes in Al-Bustan and searched them. No arrests or additional demolition notices were reported during the raid.

The measures come as part of Israel’s ongoing policy against Silwan, particularly the Al-Bustan area, where residents face continued threats of demolition and displacement as part of settlement plans aimed at altering the demographic and geographic character of the area surrounding the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
