BRUSSELS, May 11, 2026 (WAFA) – European Union foreign ministers agreed on Monday on imposing new sanctions targeting violent Israeli colonists in the occupied West Bank, according to Reuters.
European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas wrote in a post on X had greenlighted the sanctions. “EU Foreign Ministers just gave the go-ahead to sanction Israeli settlers over violence against Palestinians,” she said.
"It was high time we move from deadlock to delivery. Extremisms and violence carry consequences," she added.
The sanctioned colonist organizations include the Nachala association, which leads campaigns to establish new colonial outposts and openly calls for the re-establishment of colonies in the Gaza Strip, as well as Amana, one of the most prominent organizations involved in building and expanding colonial outposts in the West Bank.
The sanctions also targeted Hashomer Yosh and its executive director, Avihai Suissa. The organization operates under what it describes as the “protection of Area C lands” and has been involved in pursuing Palestinians and shepherds, as well as supporting colonial pastoral outposts set up as part of a wider policy intended to forcibly displace indigenous Palestinian communities, particularly in the Jordan Valley and southern Hebron.
They also included the Regavim movement and its director, Meir Deutsch, known for leading legal and media campaigns against Palestinian construction in the West Bank as well as in the Naqab, and for promoting demolition and displacement policies.
Also included was far-right settler activist Daniella Weiss, regarded as one of the leading figures of the colonist movement, whose name has for decades been associated with colonial expansion, incitement against Palestinians, and support for the establishment of new colonial outposts.
