Emphasis on implementing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement
Both sides stress rejection of Israeli policies to annex the West Bank and withhold clearance revenues
RAMALLAH – March 13, 2026 *WAFA) - Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa received a phone call today, Friday, from German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, during which they discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian territories as well as bilateral relations across various fields.
During the call, the Prime Minister briefed the German Foreign Minister on the significant escalation in settler violence in the West Bank and Jerusalem, as well as the tragic humanitarian conditions faced by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression. He stressed the necessity of respecting international law.
The Prime Minister also underscored the urgent need to implement the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire plan based on UN Security Council Resolution (2803), in order to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians, accelerate reconstruction efforts, and support the unification of Palestinian institutions in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
In addition, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for Germany’s position rejecting Israeli policies and measures aimed at annexing the West Bank, opposing settlement expansion in the "E1" area, and condemning settler violence, which was previously announced by the German Chancellor and confirmed by the Minister during the call. He also emphasized the need for Israel to release the Palestinian clearance revenues that it is withholding.
