JERUSALEM, March 11, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists began establishing an outpost on Palestinian land in the town of Beit Iksa, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, on Wednesday.
Local sources told WAFA that approximately 40 colonists, under the protection of the Israeli army and police, stormed the areas of Ras Farij, Kroum al-Gharaba, and al-Matata in the town's lands, accompanied by four trucks and a bulldozer. They began leveling the land and erecting structures in preparation for establishing the outpost.
The sources added that the colonists blocked the agricultural road used by residents to access their land in the area and threatened them at gunpoint, warning them not to approach their land.
Settlers had stormed the same area about two weeks ago and established an outpost there, leading to clashes with residents who tried to confront them before the colonists withdrew. Today, the colonists returned to the same location, this time under the direct protection of the occupation army and police, and resumed their attempts to establish another outpost in the area.
The town of Beit Iksa is located northwest of occupied Jerusalem, about 8 kilometers from the city center. It has a population of approximately 2,000 and has suffered for years from occupation measures that have isolated it from its surroundings. These measures include the construction of military checkpoints and the separation wall, as well as the confiscation of large areas of its land for the benefit of surrounding settlements, restricting residents' access to their agricultural lands and threatening their livelihoods.
