President Abbas briefed President el-Sisi on the serious developments in the Palestinian territories, particularly in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, amid continued Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, escalating attacks by Israeli colonists, and unilateral Israeli measures aimed at imposing a fait accompli and undermining the prospects of achieving the internationally supported two-state solution.
He stressed the need to compel Israeli authorities to implement the ceasefire in accordance with international plans and United Nations Security Council resolutions, reopen the Rafah Crossing, allow the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, and begin implementing the second phase of the UN resolution calling for a full Israeli withdrawal from the enclave and the handover of weapons by armed factions under the principle of one state, one law, and one legitimate authority over arms.
The President also reiterated the importance of avoiding duplication of authority and establishing new systems and laws in Gaza while maintaining full coordination with the Palestinian government through the coordination office that was established, and accelerating the restoration of the Palestinian Authority’s full responsibilities in the Strip as the sovereign authority there.
President Abbas praised Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian people and its efforts to secure a ceasefire, facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid, and achieve calm and stability in the region.
President el-Sisi reaffirmed his country’s continued support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and Egypt’s commitment to ongoing efforts to stop the escalation, consolidate the ceasefire, ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and work with international and regional parties to calm tensions and promote dialogue, peace, and stability.
Egyptian presidential spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said the call also addressed ongoing regional developments, with President el-Sisi stressing the need to halt the current escalation and prioritize peaceful solutions to the region’s crises in a way that preserves the stability of states and the resources of their peoples.

The spokesperson added that the two leaders also discussed developments related to the Palestinian issue and the efforts undertaken by Egypt with mediators and relevant parties to ensure the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the entry of sufficient humanitarian aid for the population of the Strip.
