RAMALLAH, March 3, 2026 (WAFA) – For the fourth straight day, Israeli occupation forces continued to intensify military measures across West Bank governorates, closing checkpoints and entrances to cities, towns, and villages, and hindering the movement of Palestinians.
In the Ramallah governorate, Israeli troops sealed off the Ein Sinya checkpoint and the northern entrance to Al-Bireh to outbound traffic. Soldiers reportedly shut down all entrances leading to Silwad, Sinjil, Turmus Ayya, Aboud, and Taybeh, in addition to the Nabi Saleh and Rawabi gates.
In the Nablus governorate, entrances to Yatma, Sarra, Awarta, Jamma'in, and Huwara were also sealed.
In the Salfit governorate, a convoy of Israeli military vehicles closed the northern entrance to Salfit and the Deir Ballut gate. Israeli forces also set up a military checkpoint under the bridge in the Aqbat Hasna area, leading to the western countryside, preventing vehicles from passing and causing severe traffic congestion.
In the Bethlehem governorate, Israeli occupation forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance to the Nashash road, which connects Bethlehem to Hebron and to its southern countryside. Troops checked the IDs of Palestinian residents and searched their vehicles.
Notably, iron gates to Za’tara town in the east, and the villages of Marah Rabah and Al-Manshiyya in the south, remain closed.
In the Hebron governorate, Israeli forces closed Ras al-Joura, Sa'ir, Nabi Yunis, Al-Fahs, Zif, Tarqumiya, and Al-Arroub.
The widespread deployment of military checkpoints and iron gates, now exceeding 916 across the occupied Palestinian territories, including 243 installed after October 7, 2023, has further compounded movement of residents.
