EL-ALAMEIN, August 23, 2026 (WAFA) — Vice President of the State of Palestine Hussein Al-Sheikh today met with Major General Hassan Rashad, Director of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service in the Egyptian city of El-Alamein.

The meeting was attended by Major General Majed Faraj, Director of the Palestinian General Intelligence Service and member of the Fatah Central Committee, alongside Rawhi Fattouh, President of the Palestinian National Council, as part of ongoing Egyptian efforts to achieve Palestinian reconciliation.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian Territory, as well as preparations for the upcoming Palestinian elections.

Al-Sheikh conveyed the greetings of President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The participants also discussed developments in the West Bank and preparations for the upcoming Palestinian elections.

They stressed the need to unify national efforts and coordinate joint positions to confront the escalating challenges facing the Palestinian cause at this stage.
