RAMALLAH, February 16, 2026 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa on Monday cautioned against the Israeli occupation authorities’ sweeping changes to land registration and civil control, which constitute a de facto annexation of the occupied territory.
Prime Minister Mustafa made his remarks during a meeting with Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen at his office in Ramallah, in the attendance of Finance and Planning Minister Estephan Salameh and the head of Finland's Representative Office to Palestine, Tarja Kangaskorte.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Mustafa briefed Finnish Minister Valtonen on the recent developments, stressing the importance of putting pressure on Israel to implement the second stage of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, allow unhindered access of humanitarian aid and shelters, and respect the ceasefire, particularly since Israel has killed over 500 Palestinians in the Strip since the ceasefire agreement went into effect.
He warned against the continued withholding by Israel of Palestinian tax revenues, daily incursions, and colonist attacks against defenseless Palestinian civilians.
He stressed the need for exerting pressure to ensure the implementation of the relevant United Nations resolutions on the Palestinian Question and the New York Declaration to realize the territorial contiguity of the Palestinian territory, realize statehood, and enable the government to perform its mandate in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.
Finnish Foreign Minister Valtonen voiced Helsinki’s support not only for halting Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, and the push towards Gaza recovery and reconstruction, but also for the two-state solution and regional stability.
