OSLO, February 10, 2026 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas received on Tuesday at his residence in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, the accredited Arab ambassadors to Norway.
The President briefed the ambassadors on the latest political and field developments, warning of the dangers posed by the recent decision issued by the Israeli Cabinet, which constitutes a practical and gradual implementation of plans for annexation, forced displacement, and colonial settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian Territory.
President Abbas affirmed that these decisions are legally null and void and represent a blatant violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions, particularly Security Council resolutions rejecting settlements and confirming the illegality of any measures aimed at changing the legal and historical status quo of the occupied Palestinian Territory.
The President stressed that these Israeli policies systematically undermine the foundations of the political process and destroy the prospects for achieving a two-state solution, calling for urgent and effective Arab and international action to halt annexation and colonial settlement expansion, and to hold the Israeli government accountable for its ongoing violations, in order to preserve the credibility of the international system based on respect for the law and the UN Charter.
President Abbas also reviewed the catastrophic humanitarian developments in the Gaza Strip, amid the ongoing Israeli aggression, blockade, and starvation, and the unprecedented suffering inflicted on the Palestinian people.
The President affirmed the need to expedite the entry of humanitarian aid without obstacles, to fully put an end to the aggression, prevent any plans for forced displacement, halt colonists’ violence in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, release the withheld Palestinian clearance funds, and stop Israeli measures aimed at undermining Palestinian state institutions.
The President reiterated that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the State of Palestine, as is the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and that the unity of the land, the people, and the institutions is a red line that cannot be crossed.
The President emphasized that no part of Palestinian land may be carved out or subjected to unlawful measures and stressed the necessity of a full Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President expressed his deep appreciation to the brotherly Arab states and their peoples for their steadfast positions supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, praising their political and humanitarian efforts in various regional and international forums, and stressing the importance of continued joint Arab coordination at this critical stage in defense of the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people.
