Weather: Cold, partially cloudy conditions with low-pressure system for the evening

RAMALLAH, January 12, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) said that partly cloudy to cloudy skies today with cold weather, especially in the mountainous areas, and a drop in temperatures.

During the evening and night, the weather will be cloudy, very cold, and windy, with heavy rain expected, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms and hail. Winds will be southwesterly to westerly, brisk with occasional strong gusts reaching up to 80 km/h. The sea will be rough.

Rain is expected across most areas, becoming heavy at times and accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional hail. Winds will be active, blowing from the southwest to west, with gusts reaching up to 80 km/h. Sea waves will be high.

Wednesday: The weather will be cloudy to partly cloudy and cold to very cold, with a continued chance of scattered showers in some areas. By midday, the low-pressure system will begin to weaken, and temperatures will rise slightly. Winds will be active, blowing from the west to northwest. Sea waves will be high.

Thursday will be partly cloudy with a slight rise in temperatures, remaining cool. There is a slight chance of light, scattered showers in some areas. Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the southwest to northwest. Sea waves will be moderately high.

During the period of the low-pressure system affecting the country, the PMD warned of the dangers of strong winds, with gusts reaching up to 80 km/h, flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, slippery roads due to hail, reduced horizontal visibility, and high sea waves.
