HEBRON, September 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, attacked Palestinian homes and assaulted several residents tonight in the town of Halhul, north of Hebron, WAFA correspondent reported.

WAFA correspondent said that a group of armed colonists, protected by Israeli occupation forces, attacked homes and assaulted several residents in the Wadi Qaboun area of the town.

Israeli occupation forces also set up a military checkpoint at the town’s entrance, searched passing vehicles, and checked passengers’ identification cards.

The Wadi Qaboun area, southeast of Halhul, is among the areas threatened by colonial settlement expansion and has been subjected to repeated colonist attacks, including attacks on homes, the theft and destruction of agricultural crops, the uprooting and breaking of fruit trees, and land leveling.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces detained a young Palestinian man from Hebron city and continued to close the military checkpoint known as the Salaymeh crossing for the fourth consecutive day, preventing residents from entering or leaving the area, including reaching their homes, particularly in the Salaymeh and Ghaith neighborhoods.

Israeli forces also raided Jinba village in Yatta, south of Hebron, seized a licensed vehicle belonging to the al-Yatim family under the pretext that it was located in a “firing zone,” and forced family members to dismantle tents they had erected on the rubble of their homes, which Israeli forces had demolished days earlier.

In the same context, Osama Makhamreh, an activist against colonial settlement expansion in southern Hebron, told WAFA that Israeli forces detained a Palestinian resident in front of his home in al-Deirat village, east of Yatta.
