Palestinian Presidency welcomes GCC summit statement reaffirming support for Palestinian rights

RAMALLAH, December 4, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Presidency welcomed on Thursday the final statement of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) at its 46th session held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The statement reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause and support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to achieve their freedom and independence, and to establish their independent state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Palestinian Presidency Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh expressed deep appreciation for the GCC’s unwavering positions in support of the Palestinian people, their freedom, and their independence in their Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He affirmed that the GCC’s stance reflects the historical positions regarding the Palestinian cause and embodies the depth of Arab solidarity with Palestine and its political and diplomatic support in various regional and international forums.

He added that these steadfast and fraternal positions of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states regarding the Palestinian people's right to resist the occupation's policies and measures constitute a fundamental pillar in protecting the Palestinian cause.

"They bolster the resilience of the Palestinian people, who will remain committed to their inalienable national rights and will continue their legitimate struggle until they achieve freedom and establish their independent state, with the support of their Arab brothers, foremost among them the GCC states."

Abu Rudeineh noted that the GCC's positions are fully aligned with those of the State of Palestine, which calls for consolidating the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and moving to the reconstruction phase to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land and national soil.

He also stressed the importance of initiating a genuine political process based on international law and the Arab Peace Initiative to end the occupation and establish the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital, within the 1967 borders.
