AMMAN, November 18, 2025 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa and his Jordanian counterpart Ja'far Hassan agreed on Tuesday to enhance economic, financial, and logistical cooperation during a discussion session held in Jordan’s capital, Amman.

This came during the discussion of issues of mutual interest and the continuation of coordination and consultations between the two countries.

On the economic front, they agreed to establish executive mechanisms to address the obstacles facing commercial exchange and the movement of individuals and goods between the two sides, reflecting the depth of bilateral relations sponsored by President Mahmoud Abbas and King Abdullah II.

During the discussions, the two sides agreed to form a Joint Supreme Ministerial Committee responsible for preparing the necessary visions and plans to implement the agreed-upon economic axes and following up on the execution of joint projects according to clear timelines.

They also agreed to enhance financial cooperation between the Palestine Monetary Authority and the Central Bank of Jordan, and to promote the use of the Jordanian Dinar as a primary currency in the Palestinian market.

The two sides stressed the importance of joint action before international bodies to pressure the Israeli side to lift restrictions on the freedom of commercial movement at the Karama Crossing, which has been semi-closed since October 2025.

They also agreed to develop a practical plan to separate the passenger track from the commercial track on the bridges, aiming to improve work efficiency and facilitate movement.

The two sides agreed to accelerate the procedures related to Palestinian agricultural exports to Jordan or through it to foreign markets, and to address any impediments preventing the flow of these exports.

The discussions emphasized establishing follow-up mechanisms and detailed plans for the logistical aspects associated with trade between the two countries, and maximizing the utilization of the infrastructure and logistical capabilities of the Port of Aqaba to serve Palestinian trade and enhance its competitiveness.

In the energy sector, the two sides agreed to increase and activate electrical interconnection projects and enhance cooperation in the fields of petroleum and its derivatives, emphasizing the importance of developing joint strategic projects in this area.

It was agreed to promptly work on the mutual recognition of standards and specifications certificates issued by specialized institutions in both countries to facilitate the entry of goods and products without technical obstacles, in addition to providing technical assistance to Palestine in the fields of information technology, digitization, and e-commerce legislation.

The two Prime Ministers affirmed that these understandings constitute an important step to enhance economic cooperation and joint development, and contribute to supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and strengthening their ability to confront the imposed economic challenges.
