LONDON, November 18, 2025 (WAFA) – The British Foreign Office called for urgent international action to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza, following the UN Security Council's vote in favor of the US-proposed resolution to implement the 20-point peace plan.
British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper stressed that the international community is obligated to transform the 20-point plan into a just and lasting peace. She noted that the resolution enjoys broad support from Arab and Islamic countries and provides the necessary legal basis for deploying the international stabilization force to implement US President Donald Trump's plan.
Cooper emphasized the need to open all crossings, lift restrictions, and urgently deliver necessary aid to the Gaza Strip. She affirmed Britain's continued support for the two-state solution and achieving security for civilians.
In New York, British Chargé d'Affaires to the UN, James Kariuki, explained that Britain will continue working to ensure the swift deployment of the international stabilization force and support the ceasefire. He emphasized the commitment to implementing transitional arrangements in accordance with international law, Palestinian sovereignty, and the unity of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
