JERICHO, September 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities closed the Karama border crossing on the Palestine-Jordan border, east of the occupied West Bank, in both directions on Friday morning, disrupting the movement of travelers between the West Bank and Jordan.
WAFA correspondent, citing the Palestinian General Authority for Crossings and Borders, reported that the Israeli side abruptly shut down the crossing and forced buses carrying departing passengers to return to Jericho.
The Karama crossing, also known as the King Hussein Bridge, is the only border crossing for Palestinians in the West Bank to travel abroad via Jordan. It is under Israeli control and is frequently subject to closures and restrictions, often impacting the movement of thousands of travelers, including students, patients, and workers.
In recent years, closures of the crossing by the occupation authorities have been common, causing significant delays at times, particularly for those with urgent travel needs.
