AMMAN, September 9, 2025 (WAFA) - Jordanian King Abdullah II on Sunday reaffirmed Jordan’s rejection of any Israeli measures to annex the West Bank and displace Palestinians, as well as any plans for Gaza that involve displacing its population or separating it from the West Bank, as reported by Petra.
During a meeting with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, the two leaders reaffirmed their support for the rights of the Palestinian people and underscored their commitment to ongoing international efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, based on the two-state solution, which they stressed is the only viable path to ensuring lasting stability in the region.
The two leaders urged an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and emphasized the need to ensure the sustained and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance. They also reaffirmed their rejection of Israeli plans seeking to entrench the occupation of Gaza and extend military control over the Strip.
According to Petra, the two leaders expressed firm opposition to settlement expansion in the West Bank, warning that such actions undermine the two-state solution and jeopardize regional security, stability, and prospects for peace. They also condemned Israeli rhetoric and positions that threaten the sovereignty of countries across the region.
