CAIRO, September 5, 2025 (WAFA) – The Council of the Arab League at the level of foreign ministers affirmed that addressing the root causes of conflict and regional tensions can only be achieved through a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue, based on the two-state solution, the Arab Peace Initiative, and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
In the conclusion of its 164th ordinary session, chaired by the United Arab Emirates, the Council emphasized the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian and other Arab lands, and the withdrawal to the borders of June 4, 1967.
It also called for the realization of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and the New York Declaration issued by the International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the implementation of the two-state solution, including the concrete measures and steps outlined therein.
The Council stressed the need to end the occupation, halt colonial expansion, stop forced displacement projects, prevent demographic changes and the erasure of Arab identity, and stop the Judaization of Islamic and Christian holy sites.
It also underscored the importance of guaranteeing the rights of refugees and maintaining international pressure to adopt decisive stances.
The Council warned that the continued stalemate in achieving a solution remains a fundamental factor destabilizing the region and serves as a justification for spreading extremism, hatred, and violence both regionally and internationally.
