LJUBLJANA, September 2, 2025 (WAFA) – Jordan’s Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi on Tuesday said there was no partner for peace in the Israeli government right now, adding his country remains committed to international law despite its violation by Israel.
This came during talks with his Slovenian counterpart, Tanja Fajon, and with counterparts participating in the "20th Bled Strategic Forum," according to a statement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The "Bled Strategic Forum" kicked off on Monday and will last for two days. It is an annual international platform that brings together political leaders, experts, and representatives of international organizations to discuss issues of security, peace, and development in Europe and the world.
The two sides discussed "efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, end the humanitarian catastrophe, and coordinate efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and bring in aid."
They also discussed efforts to "create a real horizon for the embodiment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the basis of the two-state solution, as it is the only way to achieve a just peace."
During his participation in a session titled “Revitalizing Leadership and Multilateralism in an Era of Conflict and Fragmentation”, Safadi said “what the Israeli aggression in Gaza did was not just destroy a whole community, destroyed schools, hospitals, destroyed life itself. It also destroyed belief in the credibility of international law.”
He also stated that our international system has normalized the killing of innocent people, the starvation of innocent people, to the extent that the killing of almost 150 people in 24 hours doesn't cause noise anywhere.
Safadi pointed out that the international community's failure to prevent and end the famine that Israel has created in Gaza is a dangerous indication that our shared humanity is in crisis.
