HEBRON, August 31, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces stormed a rally on Sunday at Ibn Rushd Square in Hebron, where Palestinians had gathered to demand the release of the bodies of slain Palestinians held by Israel. Soldiers fired tear gas canisters to disperse participants, causing several cases of suffocation.
Before the raid, participants in the rally had called for the release of 726 bodies withheld by Israel, including those of 67 children, 85 prisoners, and 10 women.
They appealed to human rights organizations and the United Nations to take serious action to ensure the release of the bodies.
Last week, Israeli forces suppressed a similar rally in Ramallah, injuring 58 Palestinians with live ammunition, rubber-coated steel bullets, and tear gas.
