GAZA, August 30, 2025 (WAFA) – Medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced the deaths of ten Palestinians, including three children, in the past 24 hours due to starvation and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip.
This brings the total number of the starvation-related fatalities to 332, including 124 children.
The ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen, due to the blockade and shortages of food and medical supplies. The severe famine is intertwined with the genocidal war waged by Israel since October 7, 2023.
Since March 2, 2025, the occupying authorities have closed all crossings with the Gaza Strip, blocking the entry of most food and medical aid, further accelerating the spread of famine across the territory.
Since the official declaration of famine in Gaza by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) on August 22, at least 54 people, including nine children, have died from starvation and acute malnutrition.
The IPC, a global initiative involving UN agencies, confirmed that famine has taken hold in Gaza Governorate and is expected to spread to Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis by the end of September.
More than half a million people in the Gaza Strip are facing catastrophic conditions,” classified as Phase 5, the most severe level marked by extreme hunger, starvation, and critical levels of acute malnutrition.
