RAMALLAH, August 30, 2025 (WAFA) – Human rights lawyers filed a criminal complaint with the Argentine federal courts on Friday, demanding an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he travels to the country, in connection with the "killing of paramedics" in Rafah last March.
The filing accuses Netanyahu of bearing "criminal responsibility as an accomplice to war crimes and crimes against humanity," and that he is "an accomplice to causing death by starvation, and to crimes such as murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts."
The lawyers also calls for an investigation into the incident by Israeli authorities and the Israeli military.
This move coincides with local media reports of a possible visit by Netanyahu to Buenos Aires in September.
The complaint refers to the Rafah strike that killed 15 paramedics and relief workers in Tel al-Sultan neighborhood of Rafah, while rescue crew vehicles were attacked while attempting to rescue civilians.
Last year, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu as part of an investigation into alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity. It's worth noting that Argentina is a signatory to the Rome Statute, which places it within the court's jurisdiction.
