NEW YORK, August 28, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations announced on Wednesday that Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip will be deprived of education for the third consecutive year due to Israel's blockade and ongoing aggression.
UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric said during a press conference last night that the new school year is approaching, and "the children of Gaza will lose the opportunity to learn for the third year in a row. Education is a fundamental right and no child should be deprived of it."
Dujarric called for protecting the right of children in Gaza to education.
He stressed the need to reopen schools and ensure that Palestinian children are able to exercise their right to education, warning that this crisis "threatens the future of an entire generation in Gaza."
