RAMALLAH, August 21, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces have continued their major military incursion into the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, since early Thursday morning. The raid has involved assaults on residents, destruction of property, and damage to agricultural land.
Ameen Abu Elayya, head of the village council, told WAFA that the Israeli army sealed off the two main entrances to the village, preventing movement in or out—including for ambulances.
Troops also forced local shop owners to close their businesses and severely restricted residents' movements within the village.
According to Abu Elayya, the Israeli military has deployed reinforcements, including infantry units, across all areas of the village. Soldiers were seen spreading out through neighborhoods, and several parked vehicles were damaged during the raid, as shown in video footage from the scene.
Soldiers also stormed several homes, including that of the family of martyr Hamdan Mousa Abu Elayya, who was killed last Saturday evening. Residents reported being assaulted during these home invasions.
Abu Elayya recounted that, after reports emerged of an attack on the martyr's family, a phone call was made to one of the sons. However, the call was answered by an Israeli soldier, and screams could be heard in the background, suggesting the family was under assault.
Local sources confirmed that two young men from the Abu Elayya household sustained fractures and bruises due to severe beatings.
The village council is currently in contact with international organizations in an effort to allow medical teams access to homes where emergency calls have been made.
Meanwhile, Israeli bulldozers began leveling farmland east of the village, adjacent to Route 458. The area, planted largely with olive trees, is now being systematically destroyed.
According to Abu Elayya, six Israeli military vehicles, including three armored bulldozers were dispatched to the area, where hundreds of olive trees have already been uprooted and vast tracts of land—over 2,000 dunums—are being razed by the Israeli forces.
