JERUSALEM, August 20, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation intelligence summoned on Wednesday morning the Fatah Revolutionary Council member and Jerusalem Governor Adnan Ghaith for interrogation at an Israeli police station in occupied Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate explained that this summons comes as part of a long series of arbitrary measures Ghaith has been subjected to since assuming his duties as Jerusalem Governor in 2018.
During this period, the occupation authorities imposed harsh military orders on him, including banning him from entering the West Bank and restricting his movement within a narrow geographical area not extending beyond the neighborhood where he lives in Silwan.
This order also prevented him from communicating with 51 national and official figures, including other Palestinian political and security leaders, for the seventh consecutive year.
It is worth noting that Ghaith has been under house arrest for more than two years in Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in an attempt to sever his connection to the political and national scene in the occupied capital.
Through these ongoing measures, the occupation authorities seek to restrict the work and movements of national figures, as part of a policy aimed at combating Palestinian presence and sovereignty in Jerusalem and imposing an alternative based on Jewish sovereignty imposed by force.
