ALAMEIN, August 17, 2025 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met on Sunday with his Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Madbouly at the Cabinet headquarters in the city of Alamein, Egypt.
The two leaders discussed the latest political developments, efforts to halt the Israeli genocidal war against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and the urgent need to reach an immediate, comprehensive, and lasting ceasefire. They also addressed ending the Israeli occupation army and settler attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and stopping annexation and displacement schemes.
Prime Minister Mustafa conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Government, and the Palestinian people to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian Government, and the brotherly people of Egypt.
He expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast and principled support for the Palestinian cause, stressing the continued coordination of joint efforts and unified positions between Palestine and Egypt, alongside Arab brothers and international partners, to halt Israel’s aggression against our people, open all crossings with the Gaza Strip to allow the unimpeded entry of humanitarian and relief aid, stop colonial-settlement expansion in the West Bank, and end attacks by the Israeli occupation army and settlers.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the readiness of the State of Palestine to fully assume its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip under one political system, one law, and one legitimate weapon, and to reunify it with the West Bank.
He also stressed the importance of building on the outcomes of the UN International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution—held at the United Nations headquarters in New York—paving the way for ending the occupation and realizing the independent Palestinian state.
The two Prime Ministers also reviewed the latest developments and preparations for the International Conference on Gaza Reconstruction, to be convened immediately following a ceasefire, as well as joint plans to ensure a rapid response to humanitarian relief, economic recovery, and reconstruction—aimed at thwarting displacement schemes.
For his part, Egypt's Prime Minister Madbouly conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to President Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Government, and the Palestinian people. He reaffirmed Egypt’s consistent and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause on all fronts and in all international forums, stressing his country’s continued efforts with international partners and friendly states to secure a permanent and sustainable ceasefire, and Egypt’s readiness to host the Reconstruction Conference immediately after the Israeli aggression is brought to an end.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Interior Ziad Hab al-Reeh, Minister of Health Majed Abu Ramadan, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Estephan Salameh, Minister of Social Development and Relief Samah Hammad, and Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Egypt Diab Al-Louh.
