Occupation forces prevent union activity in support of threatened archaeological site in Nablus

NABLUS, August 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today stormed the area of al-Masoudiyya northwest of Nablus and prevented a union activity, which was dedicated to showing solidarity with the threatened archaeological site, under the pretext that the area is a closed military zone.

Secretary General of the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, Shaher Saad, affirmed that targeting al-Masoudiyya comes as part of the occupation’s ongoing attempts to erase Palestinian historical landmarks and seize more land.

He called on all human rights, union, and international institutions to urgently intervene to stop these violations.

Saad explained that the occupation’s measures in the said area also prevent the operation of another park owned by the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions.
