Israel halts construction in areas near Nablus

NABLUS, August 11, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities notified several areas in the village of Duma, south of Nablus, on Monday, halting the construction there.

Duma Village Council head Suleiman Dawabsheh told WAFA that Israeli forces stormed several areas south of the village and distributed notices declaring them archaeological sites, prohibiting work or agriculture there, based on the powers and laws of the Israeli government's antiquities department.

It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation authorities had issued a few days ago a notice of seizure of the archaeological site in the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, and the conversion of areas of its lands—one of the oldest and most important archaeological and historical sites in the West Bank—to become an "Israeli archaeological site."
