At least 35 killed since Saturday morning in Israeli attacks across Gaza, including entire family

GAZA, August 2, 2025 (WAFA) – At least 35 Palestinians were killed and many others wounded on Saturday as Israeli bombardment and gunfire continued across the Gaza Strip, targeting civilians, displaced families, and those waiting for food assistance.

In a new massacre targeting starving civilians, eight Palestinian civilians were shot dead by Israeli occupation forces while waiting for desperately needed food aid near the Zikim crossing in northern Gaza.

In the central part of the Strip, the entire Qreinawi family — a father, mother, and their three children — was killed when their home was bombed south of the town of Al-Zawaida. Another person was killed and others injured in a separate airstrike on a gathering of civilians in the same town.

Israeli occupation forces also shot and killed five more people near an aid distribution point at the Al-Shuhada Junction, central Gaza.

In the south, three Palestinians were killed and others wounded in a drone strike on tents sheltering displaced families near the industrial junction north of Khan Younis. Another woman and her daughter were killed when a tent housing displaced people in western Khan Younis was bombed.

Three more civilians waiting for aid were shot dead near an aid point on Al-Tina Street, also in southern Khan Younis. Meantime, an additional woman was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Al-Amal neighborhood, northwest of Khan Younis.

Throughout the night, Israeli forces continued blowing up homes and buildings in the eastern areas of Khan Younis.

In Rafah, one Palestinian was killed and at least 25 others wounded when Israeli troops opened fire on people waiting for aid west of the city.

In northern Gaza, several people were injured in an airstrike targeting the Yazji family's apartment near Aydiya Street, west of Gaza City.

Three more people were killed and ten wounded in further airstrikes northwest of the Strip. In Gaza City’s eastern Shujaiyya neighborhood, three others were killed when Israeli forces targeted a gathering of civilians.

Medical sources reported that Gaza’s hospitals are now operating far beyond capacity. Bed occupancy has reached 240% at Al-Shifa Hospital, 210% at Al-Rantisi, 180% at Nasser Hospital, and a staggering 300% at the Arab Ahli Hospital.

Due to the overwhelming number of casualties, hospitals have resorted to placing patients in corridors and on the floors.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 60,430 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 148,722 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.

Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
