Five Palestinians killed, including two women, in Israeli strikes on Gaza and Khan Younis

GAZA, August 2, 2025 (WAFA) – Five Palestinians, including two women, were killed and others wounded on Saturday as Israeli occupation forces launched airstrikes and opened fire in various areas of Gaza City and Khan Younis.

Local sources reported that Israeli drones targeted the Al-Tuwam area in northern Gaza City, killing three people and injuring dozens. In a separate attack, Israeli forces bombed a house belonging to the Al-Shurafa family on Yafa Street in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City, resulting in additional casualties.

In southern Gaza, medical sources at Nasser Hospital confirmed that a woman was killed in an Israeli strike on the Al-Amal neighborhood in northwest Khan Younis. Another woman was shot dead by Israeli forces near an aid distribution center on Al-Teenah Street in southwest Khan Younis.

Separately, one man died from wounds sustained in an earlier Israeli airstrike on the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis.

Medical teams also recovered the bodies of eight victims from rubble in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in southeastern Gaza City, following a previous Israeli bombardment.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 60,430 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 148,722 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.

Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
