GAZA, July 31, 2025 (WAFA) – Medical sources at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis reported on Thursday the death of a young man from Rafah due to malnutrition and famine in the Gaza Strip.
Medical sources said on Wednesday that seven citizens had died due to famine and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 154, including 89 children.
Gaza is experiencing the worst humanitarian crisis in its history, as the severe famine overlaps with the war of genocide waged by Israel since October 7, 2023.
Since March 2, 2025, Israel has closed all crossings with Gaza, preventing the entry of most food and medical aid, causing a famine outbreak within the Strip.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition among children under the age of five had doubled between March and June as a result of the ongoing blockade.
The World Health Organization confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached alarming levels, and that the deliberate blockade and delays in aid have caused many lost lives. Nearly one in five children under the age of five in Gaza City suffers from severe malnutrition.
The Israeli occupation forces have continued the war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the killing of 60,138 citizens and the injury of 146,269 others.
