Within 24 hours: Two more Palestinians die due to famine and malnutrition in Gaza

GAZA, July 24, 2025 (WAFA) – Medical sources announced on Thursday afternoon that two more Palestinian civilians have died due to acute famine and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip within the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 113.

They confirmed that nearly 10 people succumbed to similar conditions during a similar timeframe.

They highlighted that cases of malnutrition and starvation  continue to flood hospitals every moment, with 900,000 children suffering from severe hunger, including 70,000 who have entered  critical stages of malnutrition.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) had warned that malnutrition cases among children under five have doubled between March and June as a result of the Israeli blockade in Gaza.

UNRWA health centers and medical points had conducted approximately 74,000 malnutrition tests for children during this period, identifying approximately 5,500 cases of global acute malnutrition and more than 800 cases of severe acute malnutrition.
