BETHLEHEM, July 20, 2025 (WAFA) – Several Palestinian children suffocated from tear gas suffocation on Sunday evening during an Israeli military raid on the town of Taqou, southeast of Bethlehem, according to a local official.

Mayor of Taqou, Tayseer Abu Mufreh, told WAFA that Israeli forces attacked a group of children playing football near the municipality building, firing stun grenades and tear gas canisters, causing several of the children to suffocate due to tear gas inhalation.

Earlier in the evening, Israeli forces stormed the town of Taqou, conducting raids and deploying across several residential neighborhoods, sparking tension and fear among residents.
