Child suffers tear gas inhalation as Israeli forces disperse anti-settlement march in Jenin

JENIN, July 18, 2025 (WAFA) – A 13-year-old child suffered from tear gas inhalation on Friday after Israeli occupation forces dispersed a peaceful march against settlement expansion in the village of Raba, southeast of Jenin.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, medical teams treated the child at the scene after he was exposed to tear gas fired by Israeli forces during the demonstration at Jabal al-Salama, an area threatened with confiscation for settlement purposes.

The incident occurred as worshippers marched toward the lands of Jabal al-Salama following Friday prayers, protesting ongoing Israeli attempts to seize Palestinian land in the area.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces attacked the peaceful protesters and used tear gas to disperse them, leading to several cases of suffocation, including that of the child.

The protest was part of ongoing popular resistance activities in the West Bank opposing Israeli settlement expansion and land appropriation.
