JORDAN VALLEY, July 18, 2025 (WAFA) – Armed Israeli colonists launched a violent attack last night in the northern Jordan Valley, northeast of the occupied West Bank, stealing and killing dozens of sheep belonging to Palestinian families in the village of al-Malih.
Mahdi Daraghmeh, head of the al-Malih village council, reported that the colonists stole numerous sheep and drove them to the nearby area of Al-Shek, where they slaughtered approximately 117 of them using knives and live ammunition.
The al-Malih area endured a terrifying night as armed colonists stormed people's tents, assaulted residents, vandalized property, and targeted livestock in a campaign of destruction that left the community deeply shaken.
This incident is part of an ongoing pattern of colonist violence across the occupied West Bank. Over the past year, there has been a marked increase in attacks by Israeli colonists—many of them armed—against Palestinian communities. These attacks frequently involve the destruction of homes, burning of crops, and killing of livestock, and are often carried out under the protection or indifference of the Israeli military.
Human rights organizations, including the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), have repeatedly warned that colonist violence and Israeli land policies in the Jordan Valley amount to forced displacement and collective punishment—actions prohibited under international law.
