Israeli forces continue bulldozing land north of Tubas to open a military road

TUBAS, July 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces have continued bulldozing land in Khirbet Ibziq, north of Tubas, for the second consecutive week as part of ongoing efforts to construct a military road in the area.

Abdel-Majid Khudairat, head of the Khirbet Ibziq village council, told WAFA that Israeli bulldozers have been focusing their operations on the western outskirts of the village, near the neighboring village of Raba. He noted that Israeli authorities have declared the targeted area a “closed military zone,” barring local residents from accessing their land.

Khudairat warned that the road project is part of a wider Israeli plan aimed at asserting control over vast agricultural and grazing lands that form the backbone of the local community’s livelihood. He also highlighted the grave environmental and humanitarian consequences of such actions.

Located in the northern Jordan Valley, Khirbet Ibziq has long endured ongoing Israeli violations, including repeated demolitions of homes and structures and sustained pressure on farmers and herders, as part of a systematic policy of forced displacement.
