Palestinian sustains injury from Israeli army gunfire near Jenin

JENIN, June 19, 2025 (WAFA) – A Palestinian on Wednesday evening sustained an injury from Israeli army gunfire in Ya'bad town, south of the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, according to WAFA correspondent.

She said that Israeli occupation forces opened live fire at a youth in the town, injuring him in the hand and waist.

In the course of the raid, the gun-toting soldiers physically assaulted a minor while the latter was riding a bicycle, broke into several houses, and confiscated the recordings of surveillance cameras.

Meanwhile, a large convoy of army vehicles stormed the Rummana village, northwest of Jenin, where the soldiers have taken over 11 houses, forced the families out, and have been using the houses as military and sniping posts.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted without the need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
