JENIN, June 18, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday evening detained two Palestinians from Meithalun town, south of the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, according to local sources.
They said that the occupying forces showed up at two houses in the town, broke inside, wreaked havoc inside, and rounded up two residents.
In the dawn hours of today, Israeli infantry forces ransacked several houses, interrogated their occupants, took over another house, and turned it into a military outpost.
Meanwhile, a large convoy of army vehicles barged their way into Hebron City, where the soldiers sealed off several roads, obstructing the free movement of Palestinians, at a time when the soldiers physically assaulted several Palestinians.
The soldiers stormed several neighborhoods, including Haram ar-Rameh, the vicinity of the Traffic Department, al-Jami‘a, and Abu ad-Da‘jan, and ransacked houses there, tampering with their contents.
The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids are conducted without the need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
