RAMALLAH, 13 June 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation authorities imposed a comprehensive closure of the majority of checkpoints and gates across the occupied Palestinian territory on Friday, according to the Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission.
In a statement, Minister Moayyad Shaaban, Head of the Commission, said that reports from across all governorates indicate a tightened closure of the majority of entrances to Palestinian villages, towns, and cities, constituting a blatant escalation in the collective punishment being imposed on the Palestinian people.
Shaaban explained that nearly all of the 898 various gates, checkpoints and physical barriers were closed this morning, including 224 newly established or restructured barriers that have been put in place since October 7, 2023.
He emphasized that this constitutes a peak in the ongoing campaign of repression against the Palestinian people, manifested through widespread closures and the denial of their fundamental right to freedom of movement as guaranteed by international law.
