GAZA, June 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Several civilians were killed and others were injured by Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple areas across the Gaza Strip.
Medical sources reported that five civilians, including two children, were killed after an Israeli drone strike targeted tents sheltering displaced persons in Al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis. In addition, a young girl succumbed to injuries she sustained in a previous Israeli strike on Khan Yunis city.
In Rafah, four civilians were killed and 70 others were wounded by Israeli gunfire near an aid distribution center west of the city.
In central Gaza, one civilian was killed and others were injured by Israeli forces near another aid distribution site along what is referred to as the “Netzarim Corridor.”
Israeli forces also blew up homes and structures belonging to residents in Jabalia, in the northern part of the Strip, and in eastern Gaza City.
UNRWA Communications Director Juliette Touma said yesterday that the current aid distribution model in the Gaza Strip is not working. “It’s as if you’re inviting people to their own death,” she said.
The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 54,772. At least 125,834 others have also been injured.
