RAMALLAH, June 5, 2025 (WAFA) – An Israeli court in in the city of Hadera, located within the 1948 territories, on Thursday ordered the house arrest of Sanaa Salameh Daqqa, the widow of slain Palestinian prisoner Walid Daqqa, on charges related to alleged online incitement.
Daqqa, a resident of Baqa al-Gharbiyye, was placed under 10 days of house arrest at her mother’s home in the city of Tira. The court also imposed a travel ban and a bail of 20,000 shekels.
Israeli police opposed her release and are reportedly considering an appeal against the court's decision.
Daqqa was arrested last week in occupied Jerusalem while with her daughter Milad. Her arrest followed a demand by far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir to deport her, claiming she had posted inciteful content on social media.
Walid Daqqa, died in Israeli custody in April 2024 after spending 38 years behind bars. His body remains held by Israeli authorities
