Israeli forces raid Balata camp and Rujeib, ransack homes as colonists storm village near Nablus

NABLUS, June 5, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli forces raided the Balata refugee camp and the nearby Rujeib area east of Nablus, surrounding and searching the home of a local resident, according to security sources.

Israeli forces stormed the camp, followed by reinforcements. They encircled the home of detainee Ashraf Abu Al-Al, thoroughly searching the property and allegedly causing significant damage. In Rujeib, troops raided another home belonging to the Abdel Al family, leaving the premises in disarray. No detentions were reported.

The raid came hours after a group of Israeli colonists, under heavy military protection, raided the village of Awarta south of Nablus. The colonists performed religious rituals at local sites claimed as Jewish shrines.

Prior to the incursion, Israeli forces closed the Awarta military checkpoint, barring Palestinian vehicles from entering or leaving the area to secure the colonists'' access.
